Hello I am aware that I am going to ask several obvious 'why didnt you use search ' questions , but I did and encountered so many different answers so I am very confused.I am from Turkey , not 18 yet I am very interested in this hobby have been searching for info for at least 2 years but not very much very rarely now I am very interested. I am going to start like every noob here and ask about wicked lasers ( you cant deny you were not impressed when you saw krypton for the first time when you were noobs :D ) . I have many posts about bad customer service but they are all posted 2 years ago or something like that when arctic was first released . What i want to ask is : 1) Is WL reliable. 2) Is Krypton really good ? 3) Is this new 10x beam expander any good ? 4) Is there a company or pro here that makes more powerful and high quality lasers with cases as good as wicked lasers' ( cos theyre daym cool and handy ) . Thank you for your coming answers and I qill have more questions depending on the answers . PS : I am not planning to obtain any powerful lasers at the moment because of my age

Lasers are FUN, but they're also DANGEROUS. Make sure you buy and wear safety goggles.

Wicked Lasers ARE cool looking, there is no denying that. But so is a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO.

Is it worth the 1,600,000 USD purchase price? Not to me, it isn't. For many, the cost of the Krypton Wicked Laser is not worth it, either. You must decide for yourself. There is a long list of things people find wrong with Wicked Lasers. Some of them, may no longer be applicable, as they have improved things a little. But overall, the same opinion stands, that many of their products are not worth the purchase price.

Once you own the cool-looking Wicked Laser for a time, the charm and excitement wear off, and you may soon realize it wasn't worth the purchase price. We all have the freedom to choose for ourselves. No matter what is written on this forum, or opinions you may find here, you will, ultimately just do what you want.

If you are looking for approval or agreement you should buy a WL, you may have a hard time of it. But who cares what we think? If you want it bad enough, go for it. Buy one.

But if you want discussion about why it's bad, or you want to be convinced you should NOT buy a WL, you may not get that here, either. That argument has been successfully made so many times, no one bothers to argue it, anymore.

Use the search function, and read through the first 100 posts about why WL are not worth it. Once you've done this, you may not feel the need to ask about it.

Now, with that said, many of us own a WL product. I am not one of those who own one, but want to. I am not interested in paying their high prices. If I can find a used one at a lower cost, then I will look harder and maybe buy one.

I would like to extrapolate on your analogy.

Wicked Lasers in more like a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO kit car. It looks like a million dollars on the outside, but its built on a used Volkswagen Beetle frame.

I like the look of the Krypton, but from most of the text I've read recently it seems they can highly vary in power, and are notoriously unstable. Not a good thing when spending a large amount of money on a laser. If you want a decent laser for power vs money buy a Jetlaser. If you are in it for cosmetic looks, and have money to burn, buy a Krypton. My money is on the Jetlaser.

The Jetlaser PL-E mechanical I just sold fluctuated in power from ~600mW to 990mW. All DPSS laser will fluctuate at least a bit. I would still take jetlasers over WL. The Krypton might be a decent laser, but you really want to drop a grand on one? get a module from lasever and have someone build you a laser. It will be expensive, but should be better than a krypton

Ty vm for the answers I now have another question :D I have a relative coming to US in a week and I wonder something - lets say i buy a green ( the most visible and powerful amaik ) 1 w laser and use it with glasses and all but i saw these pics - (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...7023499114.259709.210511944114&type=1&theater

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=314424478624440&set=o.210511944114&type=1&theater

1- these people dont use glasses - second are glasses for the possibility of the laser coming directly to the eye or is looking at beam harmful ? lets say im in a normal sized room i have glasses but other people would it be safe ? if not , for a 1w green laser how far should they be to not be harmed by looking at the beam in air / or whan max power of laser is not harmful to look at beam ( sorry for bad eng :D )

the beam of all lasers I know of is safe to look at without glasses. It is the dot that is dangerous to look at at close distances. glasses would HELP protect against a direct hit to the eye, but this can still cause damage and should be avoided at all cost

sooo is it harmful for the beam to come to eye or is it harmful to look at the dot on the wall

It really depends on the power of the laser and it's wavelength. A 1W green's dot would be bad to look at for quite some distance, and it also depends what color of surface it hits, as white/reflective things will reflect more light than black objects. you must use your judgement, but dont put anyone's eyes at risk

If this wall is within 20 meters, I would say yes. I had a 700mW green which peaked at 990mW, close to 1W. it was painfully bright, even brighter than my 1500mW rifle (blue laser)

idk if youre ok with so many questions but one more - how many meters does the dot require to be far from the laser ( beam lenght ) for a 1.5 w green laser dot on white wall to not harm eyes ? and i want to buy a powerful green laser but not too powerful that i need to isolate the use place but i can use in public (what i mean with public is somewhere in open area with people ) how many watts do you recommend and should i buy green ? will i have the same dot harm eye problem with blue ?

Green light is the most bright to our eyes, so if two lasers have the same mW output, the green will always be brighter. Blue is very bright also, the dimmest wavelengths are the reds and violets. If a visible beam is your goal, you dont really need any more than 100mW of green. this power will be bright, but not AS dangerous. the dot of any laser of sufficient power should not be viewed without glasses, including blue. Using lasers around many people is dangerous, most dont realize how dangerous light is, or even that it is dangerous. Since it is impractical to equip everyone with glasses, care must be taken that no one can hurt their eyes by looking at your dot. I don't think you will have an easy time finding a 1.5W green handheld laser. If you do, it will cost a thousand dollars at least, which would be a bargain for such a device. Even 1W greens are hard to come by and cost a considerable amount. 100mW of green costs much less. 445nm lasers have the highest power to price ratio

but 445 nm is blue ? it is not shinier ? why is it more expensive ? more burning pwoer ?

A high power to price ratio means that a mW of blue(445nm) costs less than any other color. For example, my 445nm cost~$260, and I could have gotten an even cheaper one. 1500mW divided by $260 comes to a little over $0.17 per mW, whereas my PL-E was over $600 for 700mW, which is close to $0.86 per mW
