The dude at DL told me they declare them as regular pens...yet they don't write.

I'm not sure why i'm unhappy. I guess because i've put all this time into something that is such a gray area.

To be more precise, they declare the blue Aurora they sent me to review as a fountain pen !

To be honest, Mcfehn - do not order one if you are not fully aware of the legality, and are willing to order anyways. You are the one that has to make that decision - and I for one will not do anything to talk you into or out of it. I knwo that I have lots of little flashy toys here, that I thoroughly enjoy messing around with - and you are more than welcome to come visit if oyu want to check them all out, instead of buying ones for yourself - that is an open invite to any forum member ! :cool:

Lol, when I got my Aurora from DL on Thursday, the packet said "Fountain Pen----Value $10". ;D ::) I least when I will order from Nova, the laser dosen't have to be sent across the border.

Even then the laser itself may be legal in a sense, but not legal to use. Also I'm not sure of the status but I heard a recent Senate bill may have been passed that makes it illegal to point any IIIB+ into the sky... though I'm not clear on details.

Even with saftey features though these things only get by on the OEM parts for manufacturing technicality. As a standalone they are not legal to use without proper variancing.

AND THEN AGAIN... as SenKat said... no one really cares. Just customs. Its still always a risk though and laws may change fast with all the new IIIBs floating around.
