green laser 50mW vs green laser 100mW..how much the line visibility difference?

Ok.So I have a green laser 50mW and I think I wants to buy another green laser 100mW.I don't really satisfy with my 50mW green laser because the line is not very noticeable at night.It still there but its not as bright as i wanted.So I've been thingking about getting a 100mW of green laser.How much the visibility difference of these 2 at night.Like "the 100mW are 2x brighter than the 50mW" .Give a comparison something like that.

Now its not about 100mW vs 50mW instead...

200mW VS 50mW OF GREEN LASER!!!!!!!.I HAVE CHANGED MY MIND!!!!MUAHAHAHA

200mW is 2x as visible as a 50mW. Get a 200mW one from rayfoss, check my signature.

Its just a general rule, nothing scientific behind it but 4 times the power is usually 2 times as bright.

There is more to take into account though, both have to have the same beam diameter and divergence. A 200mW beam with a 5mm diameter will probably look weaker than a 50mW beam with a 1mm diameter. There is really no way to say exactly how much brighter it will look.

you should be seeing that 50mw laser just fine ...my 5mw are noticable in low light....honestly i sold my opto.150/and skylaser 170 because ladshoppe 50mw had the better of the 3 in diverg. at long range..of course it wouldnt burn like opto/sky up close but i didnt care about that..all 3 at night were equally bright but in a lite room opto./sky were brighter of course 200.00 vs led shoppe 20.00 i settled for led shoppe and put extra money toward bluray 600mw plus or endeaver(nova)275mw

That is true, a good 50mW laser should be slightly visible in a lit room. I think your 50mW laser is incredibly under spec if you can't see the beam at night. Hell, I can see my 5mW 635nm beam at night fairly well.

Anyway, buying a 200mW greenie is a must at some point of the hobby, so just buy it now hehe :D

My 150mW is much brighter than my 30mW, so I imagine 100mw vs 50mW must at least be a very noticable upgrade

(theoretically) 150 is 138% brighter than 30 and 100 is 41% brighter than 50.

Ah,yeah.My 50mW were very noticeable at dark room now.It just that before my 2xtripleA battery gotten weaker.I replace it with rechargeable battery that are fully charge and it become brighter now.:yh:

Yes but that's what I meant, when 138% brighter was such a big jump, then I would think 41% should be at least a very noticable difference. But I have not owned a 100mW greenie so I can't know for sure.

What about 200mW vs 50mW.how much the percentage diff?

thanks for that picture.Are this 3 has the same nm?
If so larger dots means brighter beam?
