Some of those cheap ebay pens are actually pretty nice. I bought a 405nm (purple) laser from user "itemquickship" and "wlaser" and with a lens it can pop balloons. For $9 a purple laser that can pop balloons who would of though 5 years ago? (back when radioshack had greenies for $100)

Ummm why are you posting pics of yourself NAKED!? To show how excited u are?

Isn't there a separate section of this site for "I just bought a laser and I'm so happy" posts? I mean I'm glad your happy and want to share your 5mw with the world but it's not really a thread with a question or any point designed to spark discussion - just sort of "hey look at me!"

Like I said, I understand the feeling, but can't there be a seperate category for "look at me" threads so they don't clutter up the "general" section with essentially useless material?

MojoLA, why you care so much about it?

If he do like to show himself without a shirt, it´s not our problem.

No one forced you to look longer at him and wrote 5 useless lines.

Or are you just jealous??

I care because I hate seeing boards I'm on cluttered with pointless/uselss threads and i think they should be discouraged.

If everyone started a thread every time they bought a laser just to say "hey look I bought a laser" this place would be a mess.

It would be different if he actually had a question, or if there was something special about his laser that he thought would be of interest to the community, but a cheap 5mw off eBay?

Really? That's worthy of a new thread?

There are people out there which won´t care about your started threads Mojo.

He didn´t post it into the review section. He posted into the general section to show people that he just started with his laser hobby. I was also beside myself with joy when I received my first 5mW green laser and saw a laser beam the first time in my life.

This forum would be boring if every post is necessary. Discussion about a usefullness of a thread is much more needless than a thread itself. I´m sure Mojo you´ll find another nice thread on LPF hich is more interesting for you ;)

Yeah Mojo, why do you care?

I must say I'm glad to see someone new to the hobby start out with a 5mW pointer for once and be completely content with it and willing to learn about safety.

It's far more common and irritating to see a thread titled "how do I make a blue laser that can burn?", as if we have nothing better to do than spoon feed people information, when it is clear as day that they have absolutely zero experience with lasers of any kind.
