Sky lasers is located IN the US and they sell high power green lasers. Their lasers are high quality, as to why they cost so much. But they have 500mW green lasers that are made here in the USA, and shipped from them. I think it was California.

You obviously have no clue about what you are talking about. DO NOT buy a Sky laser.

i know this is a little off topic, but o well, i know laser beams are not good for your eyes, but is just the glow (like when you shine the laser at a white wall, piece of white paper, etc.) dangerous too??

Hey, it's been a while, I managed to find a 200mW green laser pen for around $35 from Amazon.com, it was sold to me from the seller "Bynovel". I don't think that this pointer is quite 200mW, because it only makes black electrical get really hot after about a minute. from my understanding, 200mW can burn through electrical tape in less than 20 seconds. I didn't know if it has anything to do with the focus. The laser is not focusable, and it emits a super-bright dot that is close to 2/16ths on an inch in diameter. If i could focus all that light into a tiny pin-point spot, would it burn better?

If you want pics/videos, just ask! :D

Ok, here's an update... I found an old red laser that didn't work anymore, so i took the lens out of it, then i used that lens to focus the 200mW laser. Now it smokes black electrical tape, burns holes in styrofoam, smokes matches (I never let it go real long to see if it lights) makes tiny little pin marks on black CD cases. So, I don't know what what the mW rating of it is, but it's got heat to it, that's for sure! I would really like to figure it's mW rating, if possible without a light meter.

Well, I remeasured the beam, at the aperture, and since it is so bright, I used a CD to help block out the rays, and the beams looks closer to ~3mm, but like I said since it's so bright, it's hard to tell it's exact size...

I was looking at it through my digital camera... lol, that way I don't sacrifice my eyes...
that is probably why it looks so big...

I'll have to get some pics of what I have to work with, I want to somehow make something that will hold the lens right in front of the aperture, and not be permanent...

The laser pen looks a lot like a DX greenie, but they are not EXACTLY the same if that helps any. :D

This is an old post so I hope you read up since, but just wanted to make sure if you haven't...

Reflections (glow) off of walls, paper, just about anything are/can be dangerous. Especially from up close. If you are burning, things with your laser, please get goggles, and an IR filter... you can get both from radiantelectronics.org for a pretty good price. (PM spyrorocks or MarioMaster, they might give a discount.)

From your description it sounds like the pen is probably in the 50-100mW range, but there is no telling how much of that IR.

Either way, glad you're enjoying it.

I have been wanting to get a pair of those glasses for a week now. How you say to contact Styropyro, (I've been a fan of his Youtube videos for a while now) Im curious, would he sell me a powerful laser and a pair of glasses as a combo for a good price? :)

I'm not sure if they sell lasers... I would imagine they do, but there are lots of people who sell lasers on here of all ranges. Generally with pretty good prices.

Even at stock price, the price isn't bad, and their shipping speed/price is normal.

To contact either of them, just search for their names... then click on the name, and select private message.

Please keep in mind that while those goggles are only for 445 and 532nm (Green and blue) they don't protect from Infra Red light that you can't see, and most cheap green lasers do also have quite a bit of IR. So if you do order from them, consider picking up a few IR filters, they are pretty cheap.

Also those goggles aren't really meant for high power lasers, if you go over 1.5W (in the future you will.. trust me) get better goggles as well.

For your next green laser I'd recommend this: 200mW transformable green laser/adjustable [OLV6200] - $129.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

Glasses are a must for burning with it.

EDIT: Brain Fart: I mixed up " spyrorocks " and " styropyro ". Message Spyrorocks!

EDIT 2: The coupon code for the goggles is LPFSHADES5 - the thread: http://laserpointerforums.com/f46/g...-yourself-blue-green-lasers-budget-57135.html

Thank you for the suggestions, I would prefer the prices of the O-like lasers be lower, but I suppose you get high quality from them.
I also plan to get some of those laser shades soon!
If there are any good deals on lasers, or any custom made lasers that are ~$60 or lower, please make me offers. I'll even consider used lasers that would be sold for a good discount. :D
