Its not a small wavelength actually. The best common wavelength for burning is 405nm which is much smaller and because it is closest to UV it is absorbed best by what we typically burn. 532nm is just about the worst at burning because it isn't absorbed well at all. Also, 200mW is pretty low and about the lowest I would bother attempting to burn with.

Ok so max emailed me and said that the laser is not infra red filtered so link me to a pair of goggles i need that covers a 532nm that isnt IR filtered Thanks

^^^ it would be MUCH cheaper to ge a IR filter and glue it inside of your laser crown. sold at Techood and O=like eekbay..

hey, make like me. buy 2w laser and have fun!! im alive so far. need to buy now 10w laser with bike/car battery i don't know. hug

^^^ WTH are you saying??
Lasers do not kill many people but they can blind or do bad injury to you or another's eyes- and you will not feel any pain.. You sound like you are 14 years old and not too smart-- the red dots under your name=are from negative reputation being added to your score-- You say it is great fun to point your laser at other people and the windows of houses-- THAT could be a HUGE mistake- get you arrested and in Jail- they will take away all your lasers too.

If you want friends here this is NOT the way--

Blord may regret selling you a laser....

:whistle:Time to grow up and act like you are smart===:wtf:

This is the type of thing that scares me and is a part of the reason our hobby is so restricted...

oh did i say a small wavelength i mean that 532nm is almost perfect because it is a thin beam (not the thinnest) but its almost a perfect circle witch is better than a rectangle (Blue lasers) So yeah its alright for burning i guess not the best but it will do but im more interested at star astronomy :spank: <------ cool fricken emoticon.

Not to be mean, but really 532nm is pretty much the worst for burning. You would be better off with a 405nm because of an even better beam profile and absorbance, 445nm lasers tend to be super high power(1W+) which makes them great burners, 635/650/660nm(red in general) lasers are far easier and cheaper to make higher powered than a 532nm as well.

What I am saying is, if you want to burn you are best off with just about any other wavelength other than 532nm unless you are loaded with cash. Also, if you want to burn you want the laser to be focusable so you can get the smallest dot possible on your target.

I know that the 405 is the best but i like 532 because i dont want so much power for a first laser i want a decent one but not too powerful witch would be a 200-400mw green laser because green lasers are kick ass but im sure i will get a 1w blue 445 burning beast after i get used to a 200mw
LZSK - Stick 445nm 1W Focusable Blue Laser Pointer
Heh.. besides the point. A third laser.. im pretty sure a 300mw red laser would be good for burning right? and i Do know that most of the time red lasers are excellent for distance burning
Cheers
