Yes Sears is a sponsor of the show you are talking about and gives 1000's of dollars worth of merchandize away to the show every week.

I will do so. ;)

I have heard about the store Sears somewhere.. In some programme where they build houses or something..

Now I remember, extreme home makeover is the name of the show.

Invest in a good DMM such as a Fluke. I have recently purchased a Fluke 289 and I am so happy with it that I would recommend it to anyone. Your budget wont allow you to get the higher end models, but you can always get a basic Fluke DMM for about 200 bucks.

That looks like a good iron but how hard is it to get new and different tips and what about service, it's just I have never heard of this
company before so I know little about them.

I'm not so sure about it being less expensive than some of the Weller models, I guess it could be cheaper.

and at $129.60 it's about the same as the Weller WES51 in cost the Weller WES51 is normally $125.00 but is on sale now for $99.00

http://www.testequipmentdepot.com/weller/solder/wes51.htm

Here's an even better deal> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Weller-WES5...984?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a19c89058

And one more> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Weller-EC10...293?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e6b5675fd

If you're still looking...

Digital SOLDERING STATION AT201D 60W Anti-Static Lead Free UL Listed | eBay

It's much cheaper than the Weller ones and I'm using this one for around 7 years now...

it comes with the required to allow an easy connection to your antistatic safety tools (like antistatic wrists).

A FLUKE is a very good meter they make quality product and I would second the vote of getting one.

I am a huge fan of my HAKKO FX-888 I got on adafruit a year ago, it's a great little iron, and not too expensive either!

@Flaminpyro,

Is your OptiVisor a 5 diopter unit at 2.5x magnification or is it a 5x magnification unit. Having trouble locating the one I should get. Any specific links would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Get some solder wick and a solder sucker. Also you can pick up a pocket DSO on eBay pretty cheap.

I'm embarrassed to say that I've had my DSO for almost a month now, and I still haven't learned how to use it :(
