Hey everyone,

Avery updated the site and we have a NEW SEARCH FEATURE. Its called "LPF Search" and clicking it redirects you to the Google LPF search at the bottom of the page :D

PLEASE use this feature. It is actually very helpful and IMO 10x the search feature than the drop down "search" button two over. If you don't believe me then try this little test; copy and paste "how to clean lens" into the LPF search feature and the regular drop down search button two over. compare the results and tell me which is better (don't really tell me since i know the LPF Search is way better. Glad i could teach you something about the search feature here. Please pass this along to members who have questions and say "i did search and got nothing" they may have searched but they didn't do it properly

Feel free to place this in your signature for future reference or to refer members to like i did below (yellow and pink links)

Thanks for the update Avery

I also see Stin's logo (the one in his signature) is at the bottom of the page, when clicked it redirects you to the top :)

He was, but I don't know if it is possible for me to shrink it down much farther to fit the specs for the top that Avery wants.

I've always preferred searching LPF via Google over the built-in search feature. Google is much more accurate, plus vBulletin doesn't allow short search strings.

The only downside is that Google cannot pick up anything in private forums (not that it matters for most people).

IMNHO both search engines have benefits.
I use the "standard" search most often
However, I always use it in "advanced" mode

It lets me choose to search the complete text or just the subject lines
It lets me chose to search all posts or just the threads started by a particular member
It lets me choose which boards to search

I'll admit that the inability to search short strings is frustrating at times,
but I'm usually able to find what I need in a very short time

Peace,
dave

I have to agree with this. I find myself using the top search function a bunch but like you said i always use the advance search and when that doesnt work I use the bottom one.
