I have a fog machine already with "atmosphere" fog juice to make lasers more visible, is there such a thing as florecent fog juice to brighten up a 405nm laser and give it different "colors" and would such a fog juice, if it exsist cause "stains" to walls or furniture? Let me know if you know anything on this idea. THANKS!

I am not aware of the existence of such a thing but that may have some potential if it could be made.

it would probably end up leaving a coat on your walls/stuff so your stuff would soon be uv reactive unless you cleaned the layer of mist off.

I only know of fluorescent soap bubbles.. I think it would be difficult to create something fluorescent which could take being heated in a smoke machine.

I think there was a thread about this althought I can't find it now. Hopefully someone will give you the link.

As for the question, I think it could be easily done but the result would be a very toxic gas xD

ahhh.. but that would depend on the chemical used.

The resulting fog would probably leave residue every where (including your lungs). I don't think such a thing exists, but you can try dissolving a hilter's content in an aquarium full of water (no fish!), and it will glow. Its not a fog, but it's the closest thing I know
of.

You know how to make fluorescent water by swirling a highlighter in water?

Well, that's the closest I can think of. Yes, it would stain. (But would having a uv-reactive house be so bad?)

Nope, It's not practical. The amount of dye required would stain pretty much everything it touched. At that amount of dye, it'd just clog up and burn inside a fog machine. Same with coloured fog, the amount of colouring required for an effect would stain everything the fog touched :p

To get enough dye into fog to make it glow would require quite a few more highlighters than you'd have laying around :p

Only do it if:
1. You want to die
2. You want everything in the room stained
3. You feel like buying new fog machines every week
4. You own a highlighter factory

In other words, a suicidal, rich highlighter CEO :p

Fluoresceine can be used, but it dirt anything (fog is no more "clean", after you add it to the liquid, ofcourse)

Also, is not 100% safe (remember that you also BREATH the fog :p)

About the highliter trick, I was thinking of using it in an aquarium, not fog juice.

And also, Daguin succeded in making a big fluorencent aquarium with one hightliter.

Not sure your fish would like it, however.

If you have an empty one laying around, then sure, but I wnted to make sure no one puts highlighter liquid in fog juice, vaporized glycerin is bad enough as it is :p
