After a few days of browsing, searching, researching, and learning as much as I could, I've decided that this will be my final receipt on everything I'll need for my first ever batch of lasers and equipment. I was aiming for a $250 budget for this first batch, and landed about where I needed it to be.

Now, my question to you helpful folks, because I respect this memberbase's opinions and suggestions, is if this looks good? Any recommendations, changes, advice, etc.?

Thanks to everyone who responds, and have fun with your death rays.

Please do not get those 2 items, both are of horrible quality and you will be putting your eyes at risk with the laser.

Is there another 5mW 532nm laser you'd recommend in it's place? I want a 5mW one for when my younger cousins visit. I don't want them playing with my more dangerous ones, but they can handle a 5mW. (I will of course tell them not to point it at each other, just in case. No reason to take chances, just because it's 5mW)

G to eBay and look up eBay seller r-lsales. Get a nitecore intelle charger and grab some of his batteries. Great quality stuff, fast shipping .

eBay seller overfeel has some decent pens.

I would go for the 200mw hl532 from laserbtb. Better bang for your buck. I jave that model and it peaks at 400mw and settles around 350mw . And if anyone needs proof, ill be glad to take pictures ;)

Tmack how can you? He said his younger cousin will be playing with it :shhh:

Anyway, I would recommend these.

Laserglow.com/5mW Anser

laserbtb.com/5mW 532nm unit

If you want to go all out

I couldn't find the intelle charger, not the r-lsales user. Could you provide a link to each product you're recommending?

Also, I went for the 100mW 532nm for visibility, and the 500mW 445nm for burning things.

^^^Better yet, if you can wait for the current group buy (probably mid January), get a 300mw 532 from laserbtb for $147.

As far as the tripod, I'd try this with any regular tripod.

As Tmack said, get a nitecore i2 or i4 charger and some better batteries too.

good luck

If you are getting a LaserBtb, why dont you just join the LaserBtb group buy and save some money on those lasers?

And seriously join the GB. the lasers you want, still from LaserBtb but just better prices since Kevin likes us here at LPF and if we buy as a group, he gives us better deals

http://laserpointerforums.com/f55/open-taking-orders-round-4-skylaser-laserbtb-groupbuy-86275.html

- HL532- 150mW website price $108.33 Offroads GB price $85
- HL445- 1000mW website price $97.34 Offroads GB price $80

So your saving $40.67 just by joining the GB......thus $46 more to spend somewhere else ;)
The lasers are still coming DIRECTLY from Kevin at LaserBtb and carry the same warranty so you are getting the exact same laser as you would be buying if it was directly from LaserBtb's website. If you buy them on your own and dont save the money then you are nuts!

I was told that if I did that, it'd be mid to late January before I actually end up with a laser in my hand. Is that correct?
