Fiber Optic cables and diode connecters

Where can I get fiber optic cables that will mount directly on dvd burner diodes like the 20x long can diodes? I want to bundle about 10 of these diodes together using fiber optics and "wrap" the fiber optics in a tight cable fashion drill a hole in an aixiz housing to enlarge the diameter of the input side where the wires go for the cable to enter the housing to be right up against the lens to "collimate" all the fibers together as one larger emitter! If you can be of help directing me to the fiber optic parts please let me know. THANKS!

You won't be able to do this as you say. You will not be able to get enough of the light into small enough fibres to make it worthwhile, plus, even if you use a small numerical aperture fibre, the output will be worse then the input, there is no way around it. You can't increase the brightness of the beam which is what you are attempting to do here, it's physically impossible.

Your best bet will be to stack the beams of several diodes to make one large beam. You can do a 2x2 array using a polarizing beam splitter cube and get 8 diodes into one beam shape, it will be square at that point, but you would be able to use 2 sets of anamorphic prisms to round out the beam.

REally... Is that so? I've seen fiber optic cables that are 2 in and one out. It's just pompous and silly to say that it WON'T work. It will. Just not the way he's talkin about doing it and will be incredibly inefficient and EXPENSIVE.

Yes, you can get a set that is 2 in 1 out, I have several diode setups like that. The problem is, when you put two into one, you increase the numerical aperture of the fiber and make the output beam even worse then what you would get with one.
