Hi,

I have been looking at making a custom host for a while now, and might finally go for it.

Specs:
1-1/4" Diameter
8" Long with focus knob
2 x 18650 capacity
counterbore for 17mm contact board or driver board
press-fit copper module diode bore
1-1/4 Diameter Smooth Flow focus knob
finned heatsink section
long enough diode bore to fit a whole 12mm aixiz module
~9 Oz of aluminum

*Other battery tubes could be substituted for various lengths such as 1 18350, 2 186350, 3 18650 etc since the battery tube has male threads on both ends.

Estimated Price W/ Knob: $75

Anodizing could be added for an additional $20

I would like it more if the finned section was slightly thicker than the battery tube. I think it looks better IMO. Regardless it looks great and I wouldn't mind having one!

Thanks. I know some people prefer the heatsink to flare out, while others prefer the whole laser to be the same OD. Most of my host kits I sell have the head flare out, so I thought I'd change it up this time.

That's a yes from me. That's not much more the krypton groove so I think isn't not a bad deal.

Consider making your battery tubes male/female, instead of male/male. Then people can screw them together for any configuration they want, more or less.

YES! This would be awesome. I just bought a couple of 18650's at the gun show (of all places) and need something to put them it.

Thanks. I think I'll start ordering the tooling to make these then.

Actually, I'm going to need to wait til I get at least 5 people interested. It's going to cost me about $150 in tooling to start making them.

Thanks for the offer. I'll most likely be ordering tooling sometime this week. Only really need like 2 more people interested.

I currently cannot, and reading through the process, it would be very costly to implement.

I'd be willing.. I think I'd still want to see a photo of the finished result

Of course, but to justify a relatively lower cost, which this is versus a one-off, I need to make a decent quantity of them as a batch using good fixturing and the proper tooling. I'm not going to collect payment on any of the hosts until I have them made, or at least one finished. Just need to make sure that when I do have a pile of them made, they aren't stuck in my basement forever, but instead being properly cared for by hosting high-powered diodes. ;)

Count me in :) I know these are prob the hosts to fit the focus rings you made. Can you polish the cut outs on the inside of the focus rings, that you anodized? Could you do it to the inside of the fins also on the host to match the focus rings? I think it would make them really stand out!
