Well I bought one of those cheap 3 dollar <5mw red lasers, but it seems the spring that the button cell batteries sat against broke. How does one power this laser?

Welcome to the forum!

I think these button cell pointers can't be disassebled withouth harming them. If you still manage to do it you could solder the spring back or at a last try you could use some metal spacer like a magnet to fill the space between the cells and the remains of the spring.

J/K

Anyway it's what I would do. You can resolder the spring or connecting a cable to where it was. A picture will help.

Shouldn't the question be part of the thread title?

I know, I know, I'm a thread title nazi... I just have a pet peeve in ALL my forums about ambiguous names like "check this out" and "help please."

A well-oiled forum LIVES on accurate thread titles, both for today and in the future when someone is searching thread titles looking for info (the most popular kind of search).

Please keep it in mind in the future.
