I put this on another thread. I took a NUBM06 and aimed it through to see how it would look.

You could definitely pop them out like that. As long as you had a portion removed on the back of the diode you could pry it loose. If you had a milling bit that would get you up flat against the back you would be fine. I attempted to use a square piece of metal that fit between the leads and when I hit it it caused the diode to bend and dome up. But it just needed a little more surface and to be off to the side a little bit more and you could press them out without bending them.

LOL forget photobucket, I just opened my little thumbnail in a 2nd window and linked that open pic to an edit in this window of the same page and got a large pic, wow, this is so much easier, now I understand why I see some people have both, sure I link from post, but I didn't know you could link from the post you are in.

Haha yeah I do this sometimes if I don't need the picture to be big, 800X600 or less, makes it much easier to get the picture uploaded and in the post. :)

Ricker, you have your cuts spot on :gj:

All those diodes makes me want to see some beams, I wonder about half a block of 06 or 08, I wonder which way the lines run in the far field, they must overlap in 2's or 4's.

Ricker did catch what DTR said about not breathing the dust from the metal. Your doing a really good job but when your using the cutting disk you should probably wear a mask or do your best not to breath any. Who knows what this is made from.

I must also add that the bottom of the diode, the metal pretty much flaked off, the sides were way harder to get off, not sure if that helps somehow.

Power one up, after a window inspection and in a heat sink of course.
