I'm thinking take the block to my buddy at a machine shop where I used to work and have him end mill a line down each side just under the diode edge, the pins are offset, is the circle on the back facing in or out....I bet it's in, that's why the sadistic bastards flipped the top for bottom row, LOL.

I know it! It's fun when it's going smoothly, but when I can't get a damn piece off I hate it! I wish I knew what the secret is, some type of compound that eats at the weld or what...

No they pop out, just look at the tool mark and the smooth separation on the sales page.
My buddy with the 2 CNC machines hangs out after work smoking and drinking, he went to school with the owners son, if I cover the Gballs and have him endmill a slot right under the diodes, just one pass down each side, no coolant then I can reach under and pop them up/out , I will make a tool.

Cutting by hand is what makes it tough.

You can see where the tool came in from the left side, it that how they sit in the block? ....... I need to look at the block back, I thought they were rotated 90

The top edge at 11 O clock could be all it took, the rest could be throw em off marks ;)

HMM, this 07E looks like is was not a pull, it looks factory fresh. Let me get a pic.

Yeah I can get that smooth seperation if i cut it perfectly, but other pieces always come off with it due to this crap being so brittle. Ugh, such a PITA. Jordan, please give us a hint!!! :san:

I will never mess around with this kind of diode bank. This is just too expensive to me.

Well, if I lose four, and only have 3 alive, I pretty much break even, if I have 4 alive or more, I'm saving money from not having to buy these diodes at whole price. Plus the experience I gain is priceless! ;)

This is how mine are laid out RC, pins straight with the block, not sure if all are like this though.

You can sell the DMD chip for 120 on ebay, save it.

Is the little dimple towards the outside or inside?
It looks like it's facing out, that's in our favor.

The dimple between the pins? It faces the outside of the block.

Power cord, remote, carry bag, people lose that stuff and buy it, but our NDA friend sells DMD chips quite regularly on ebay, they use the same chip in several machines, if you want to know how to list it just read the feedback.

I doubt your going to lose more than one. They should all be ok. Just check the window before you run them. Also when you remove the DMD make sure you don't touch the front of it and leave a smudge. It's real easy to pop out. Make sure you put it into a static protected bag also.

Yes I was about to say that, exactly right, put it into an anti static bag and don't touch the face, it has a billion gold circles on back that sit into little gold pins, it lifts out with a plastic butter knife after you unfasten the retainer.

It's already in an anti-static bag, which I need to buy more of, that was my last one, I didn't separate it from the chip yet I'll do that tomorrow, but before I go to bed, what's this long mirror type long glass here? Is it special by any laser means?

I don't know. I played around with it a little bit. I think it might mix the different color lights together. I don't know of anything all that useful you could use it for. The dicros are probably the only useful thing.

A light channel, I have taken those out of old dlp TV's
The beam of light runs down the inside of that mirror box, I never knew exactly why, to clean up the overspray maybe?
They use them in the lamp type too.
