Recently purchased a 7 1/2 watt cree build from "taterslashers"on ebay. An hour or so after, I received a notification of an auction of the exact build. To make a long story short I won the second build for $150. The seller is chinese, has 0 buys/sells. This was my first auction buy and am worried about this purchase, should I be? Is the ebay/PayPal guarantee good?

Welcome to the forums, try to post in the welcome thread so we can have a bit of information about you and welcome you to LPF.

From my experience with eBay, they are most often on the buyer's side. Every time an item failed to deliver to my house I open a case and it's done in about 3-5 days, full refund.

Also, if we're talking about a 7.5W laser, then I really doubt that... Many (majority) of these Chinese sellers will over-specify the actual output, and if it seems too good to be true it's probably not true.

If you think you did not get your money's worth after you receive your item then you could technically contact them for false advertisement, but again don't expect 7.5W for 150$. It's definitely possible don't get me wrong, but just don't expect much either.

Also, just out of curiosity, can we have the link to the item please? Thanks :)

Thank you for the info, I'll get to the welcome page shortly.
The item# is 141931127334
I am on my phone and not shure how to link the page.
The listing is exactly the same as the listing for The one I bought, pics and all.
Thank you again for the info.... off to the welcome page

Oh interesting. That actually looks fairly legitimate; I had thought you bought one of those cheap chinese manufactured lasers. This looks like a personal flashlight build, you may have just got a pretty nice deal. Good for you, you should make a review for it when you get it as your first review :D

Thanks guys, if it's real, I'll have two! Lol
I'd be willing to trade one for a nubm08 in module w/a 4.5 5 amp driver.
Just posted on the welcome thread, sorry for the booboo, will do my homework now.

You're covered, eBay sides with buyer.
If you get scammed and there's no laser, you'll get your money back.
It's pretty secure, don't know why people bother attempting to scam.

The Chinese seller shipped but that's all I know. Meantime parts trickling in and a S4 host. Can the S4 handle 2watts (7875 diode driven at 1.8 amp) with a decent duty cycle?
