It would have been a great idea, but there are just too few canuck members here. But I think it might be a possibility if we involve people from other laser-related forums like Photonlexicon and Lasercommunity, and get some of the renowned laser companies like CNI and O-Like to have some sort of presence there (local members displaying samples of their product lines), this might just get interesting enough to get people to ... travel

Now I'm not talking about Mac Expo or CES... just a "mini convention" of laser enthusiasts here to connect together and see the latest stuff in the laser world.

Montreal's a nice, inexpensive city to visit, lots of nice restaurants and fine hotels, so it's an attractive place to hold such an event. I've organized a music festival over the past four years, and everyone travelling here love their visit.
