The elite lunar is 100mW 50$
The Pulsar
is 200 mW 50$

Lunar is blue
Pulsar is red
I'm buying the lens, thing for both of them (I mean, for the one I'm getting)

The Elite lunar looks so appealing in it's casing,
What do you guys think I should buy?

I'd go with the lunar myself. I like the host a ton better, and it's a much more pleasing color laser IMO. Not to mention it's not as common as red lasers are. It's not quite as powerful and I'd be interested to know whether the lunar or the pulsar burned better(I'd guess the pulsar, but not noticeably), but I know I would be more pleased with the lunar. I've gotten bored of my own o-like 200mW red dilda :(

The Lunar would burn better because the wavelength is more easily absorbed by things. I would get the Lunar. Keep a soft rag handy as they're a fingerprint magnet.

This may not be the best place to ask, and I may be able to find my answer if I search. If so, I'm sorry.

I haven't ever owned a 405nm laser (crazy for how long I have been into lasers, I know...) but I have been wondering about them after this Arctic has come out. A lot of talk has been going around on how it's right at the UV wavelengths and how it can cause problems with vision (making green not well defined) and causing cancer, blah blah. Not sure how much of that is true with the 445.

Still, I'm guessing this has to do with biological like changes going on. Being that 405nm is almost dead at the UV starting range and is in concentrated form, should you really have to be worried about it with 200-400mw? Sure you shouldn't be pointing at your self at that power anyway, but if it's biological, does it really have to be powerful to cause any problems in the future? It almost sounds like it's the wavelength mainly, power just makes it more severe.

Fact is though, if you have a 405nm laser, you will most likely get diffused reflections to come in contact with your skin, and you will probably look at the spot every now and then at good distances.

So maybe all this is just out to scare people and is bs, or maybe it has some truth, I dunno.

Answers? Thanks!

I just ordered the E3 elite, lunar...
I'm still wondering, if I maid a good choice? Should I have went with the pulsar?
Also, I ordered the standard cap set, foolish me for not knowing exactly what it is, but...
What is it?
Is it like the lenses it uses to help it burn?
Also does any one know any videos I can watch of the e3 elite?

I haven't seen any videos of that laser. If you look on WL website under optics or wicked gear it shows you the cap sets. You probably made a good choice. Purple lasers are really fun if you shine it on glow in the dark stuff. There is a focusing lens a flashlight and a galaxy thing.

I'd choose the lunar as other people said it will burn better because of the wavelength. Its also fun to point 405 at fluorescent things. I would definetly suggest ordering a pair of glasses because anything above 5mw is a hazard to your your eyes. Even reflected light can be enough to damage them.

But as for your question, the lunar would be your best choice since everyone and there brother has a red laser :)

Problem solved.

In addition to my WL order I also placed orders with O-like.com and optotronics.com

I'll see who gets here first. If they happen to all get here about the same time then I have a good start on my Christmas list for this year...

No word from WL on the Lunar I ordered on July 6th. I can't imagine what's keeping them busy...

Optotronics might be out to an early lead. I received a tracking number from them the day after I ordered. Promising indeed, however 24-hours later the carrier shows the shipper notified them it's coming but they don't have it yet. I'll assume that Opto, like many shippers, consolidates their pickups into as few days as possible to save cost. With tomorrow being Friday I'll hope it's a pickup day.

O-like has been quite like but I only ordered on the 20th so I'll give it some time and see if they ship or not.

We have a winner. I got a nice shiny 50mw greenie from optotronics today.

It's a perfect night for it here. Hot and hazy, that beam goes on forever. :)

Now all I have to do is wait for the safety glasses to arrive so I can use it in the house.

I'd like to know when you get a shipment notification from WL for your Sonar. I ordered one around the same time and they keep telling me next week for about 3 weeks now.
