Driver HELP ?

Hi i am building my first laser and i am going to use this driver but it says 7.2V ideal ? i initialy wanted to use a single CR123A 3V battery, can anyone help me solve this problem ? or how to get this voltage without using 2 of the 3.6V batterys ? would a 6V 4SR44 battery do the job ? or a standard 9V ? I have also herd that two high quality rechargeable AAA batterys can give more than 3V is this true ?

If you look here http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1214869981/0 you will see that i have limited space to work with and this is my first laser build, i could change my design to use a 9v battery or something along those lines but cannot use two 3.6v batterys.

Thanks Jamie

Take it you got all the components from maplin, you probably could use those batteries, but it would be much easier to get a battery holder so it easier to change the batteries, maplin sells them aswell, thats where I got all my stuff for my green ( unfinished ) project, unfinished due to lack of laser

ill get some pics in a minute, will take new ones as I've done more work to it, the bloody sodler joints better not break

anyway, I'm going to use 4x AAs (6.0V) to power my laser which cuts out at around 4.5V but can be powered up to 6.5V ( not tried any higher, dont want to ) Only problem being I had to get the laser replaced and its not been replaced yet lol

I'll get some pictures just now.

nah this is a green, completely different driver I'm using, I'm using 4 batteries to get 6V enough to power my laser until the batteries drop to around 4.5V at which point it cuts out.

Pic with the LEDs on, I'll get interior pics when my camera is charged.

thanks, though the low resolution photos hide the scratch marks and bits that look bad, i'll get interior photos later, the wiring is a mess and my camera has to be charged. so i'll patch up the wiring and get the camera charged and get pics for ya.

There I got some interior pics, this one shows inside the box ith the batteries, wiring and fan. The 4 batteries for the laser havent been added yet.

two batteries on either side of the laser the one at the top right corner is the PP3 9V for the fan, the other 3 power the 2 LEDs
