I am talking about the 75mw viper and 95mw versions from dragonlaser. Which one is better for its price? Is thier a big difference between the brightness of the beams. I want to know which one is better for star pointing.(remember I have children, can you tell me how safe these lasers are?)

In brightness and beam quality you won't notice too much of a difference for star pointing, if you're going for burning i'm sure you would notice a difference. The 75mw should be fine for star pointing and give you some burning power without it being too dangerous for your kids. If you plan on doing any upclose burning especially around your children you might want to get some goggles, if you're only star pointing it should be safe.
you also might want to check out the lasers at novalasers. www.novalasers.com
they have some nics lasers, like their 65mw or 85mw could be used for star pointing as well. There's a review on here by Senkat on their 85mw.

I agree with Lazerlover - if you plan on using them for star pointing, almost anything is safe ! But - if you are playing with the little ones (I STILL consider my 14 year old girl a little one) then, anything above 5mw - I suggest protective eyewear. Now - there ARE times when she has not worn the goggles, but those were tightly controlled, and at no time was she in danger - so, it REALLY depends on what you will do with the laser when the kiddies are about...
