So one day I decided to check out Wicked Lasers to see if they had anything new and exciting.
They had a LOT less products for whatever reason, but I saw they still had the Krypton and Artic, and I proceed to eyegrope them per usual.
I got bored of that and stared looking up other laser sites to see if they had anything comparable for a good price.
No real winners.
Then I got a magical wild hair to see about making my own!
After a bit of searching Google, eBay, and others, I concluded that it would be better to make my own at less cost per mw to buy, and it would give me just enough NXP (NerdXP) to rank up from "Takes Shit Apart But Can't Put It Back Together" to "Makes Dexter From Dexter's Lab Look Like Beaker From The Muppets".
Also I found sites that link back to this site, which is how I got here.
I am currently around a month from my first build (CURSE YOU, YOU DAMN DIRTY DEPLOYMENT! CURSE YOOOUUU!!!), and I want to make sure I have all the information possible.
There's my backstory, here's my questions! All input and answers are appreciated! (Ya know, unless you're gonna be a prick ;))
1) BlitzBuck v3 Driver
a) According to the diagram on Cajun Lasers you can use any of the solder points in any way you choose.
My question is do you have the match them to whatever you solder them to or does it not matter?
Meaning, do you have to solder both square points to the diode and both circle points to the battery contacts, the other way around, or does it not matter?
b) Is the high power jumper like a standard PC jumper that can be fitted with a removable bridge or do you have to solder the points together?
2) Mohgasm 100mw, 120mw, 490mw Drivers
a) What are these drivers' V in range?
b) Are they able to be used with case pin negative diodes?
3) LASORB Module
a) What is the best way to wire this up and make it work because it just seems that either the current would just bypass the module and go straight to the diode or the module would short the connection and completely cut off power to the diode
b) What is the difference in microsecond surge conduction time, as far as protection effectiveness, and what are their downfalls?
4) C6 Host
a) Does the C6 host from Cajun Lasers come with the pill, brass ring, etc. (Essentially what the Survival Laser C6 host states it has) or is it just a lone regular flashlight?
5) Suspiciously Cheap Mitsubishi 650nm 500mw Diode
a) Sold here by newgazer on eBay, this is rasing my suspicion because, well, Cajun Lasers has this diode set at $110 but this guy is selling it for $95 cheaper.
Honestly, I'm probably gonna get it and see anyway because $15 isn't too much of a real risk and, who knows, maybe this guy is legit? (I'll be sure to report back)

well......
i'll forgive your lack of etiquitte this time. even tho i am a prick..

1a there's two points provided for each lead + and - you only need to use one of each
b if you looked at the picture you can see it must be soldered

2a not sure, prolly up to 12V
b sure

3 no idea, i don't use it

4 it has all you need other than batts, diode and driver

5 the one cajun sells for $110 is 635nm and multimode. go with the lpc-826 diode at cajun lasers, cheaper and will get to you quick quick

since i am a prick that's all i'll tell you. you must read more. be sure to buy goggles appropriate to the color of laser you plan to build
