I read that a green laser can be seen more easily than red - that it'd take several times the power of the red to equal the green.

1) So what about blue vs red?

2) Anything else I would want to know about differences btw red vs blue?

3) On a clear night, very low humidity, about how big would the spot be a mile away if shined on a big rock? (using a 1000 mW laser)

Roy, check this Relative Perceived Brightness Calculator out, it's not perfect, but it will give you an idea of how the different wavelengths compare.
You just have to input the comparisons that you want to make; you can alter both the wavelength, and/or the power levels.

Wow! There's THAT much difference!?! Green is WAY more visible? So I guess everyone and their brother has a green laser?

Well, most everybody wants a green laser; especially, it seems to me, most all of the new members!

If you do a google search for = spectral sensitivity and then go to images.
That will show you that 555nm(green) is by far the most visible color to the average human.

Remember that is ONLY during the day, at night it drops to around 507nm :)
