I'll get some pics today, I basically put some silver/copper tape around the head so the cover makes a very tight fit. It is sort of a kludge if you know what is done, but from the outside it looks fine and it fits very tight so it isn't loose and doesn't fall off or loosen up at all.

Eud in your next host (Deimos) I would suggest allowing more pill area for a driver board so it doesn't need to be direct diode mounted and wires can be run. I was able to cram my microboost in the hole but just barely, once I wrapped it in electrical tape for insulation. I don't care for the direct diode mounting of drivers, due to the high chance of snapping pins off, which is why I've invested in lots of that silicone insulated wire. Just my two cents.

Alright, noted: longer driver section. You can help the situation a bit if you leave the aixiz sticking out a bit, no need for it to be perfectly flush.

Deimos was supposed to be a very big host anyway, but I'll make sure to have a generous driver space.

Awesome man! I might have to let my module stick out a bit. I have one of those you custom made a module for. Nice job on the diode pocket, fits like a glove, I know those are very difficult to do.

They're not that hard to do, given the softness of aluminium, you have some tolerance to work with.

Thanks for the comments, man, 'ppreciate it!

Not yet, as far as I know. I did post basic guidelines for assembing in the OP, and in any case, it's pretty simple to assemble - simply looking at the half cutaway in the 3D render gives you an idea where what goes.

You need to be creative and should have basic laser building and troubleshooting knowledge at the same time , Your good to go!!
Some of the threads which i find very easy to understand are jayrobs and dtr's tutorials..

Any ETA on the completion of the 18650 build? I'm really looking forward to it. If its possible after I get this one would you be able to build me another 1 or 2 just like the one your building me now? I have a few builds I wanna do now and your host would be great for them, I wanna do a 445nm 1w build and a nice green build now that I found an 18650 battery that is 3.2v it would be perfect for my 3v green modules and I would get good battery life out of it. This being if you wouldn't mind building another one or two after these. Id also like to try and do a 400mw green build being that it has the focus adapter wich is what I have to use when using the 400mw modules as its just the diode and crystal with the lense it doesn't come in a full size module with the second lense for focusing it and I could use your host for that module and put a glass lense at the end for focusing it would be one nice green laser :) I don't need them built yet if you can doit for me I will let you know when I'm ready for another one if you can.
Thanks again can't wait for it to be completed and I can build the first one and hopefully more :)

18650 version is being made, it will simply feature a longer battery barrel to accomodate a larger battery, I haven't figured out a way to keep nice outside looks without placing the set screw visible from the outside, which ruins the aesthetics.

So I guess you'll have to turn to tsteele for securing the focus adapter to the host additionally, in the green module based build.

Yeah I'm not worried about that I like it the way you have it built, like TS did I will probably just put some tape in there to take up the slack and have it be a tight snug fit so it will stay on there and not slide off to easy, I may just remove the longer part of the module where the second lens is and attach the module with crystal and diode and first lense in the host and actually use the focus option on the host and find a way to secure the glass lens in an axis unit, or do some machine work on the focus head that comes with the host so I can thread the glass lens in there some way and make it focusable :)
Thanks for the quick responce but you don't an any estimate as to when they will be ready to be paid for and shipped?

That looks great; keep up the great work! As far as recommendations go, I'd say just to extend the barrel for some 18650's but you already are, so it's perfect!
