If I were to collimate several laser diodes in the 1 watt range of 635nm and then want to merge them all together into a commom single focal point, where could I get such a lens or housing for such a lens since it would have to be bigger than usual than DVD laser diode aixiz housing and lens are but work exactly the same? PLEASE help!

It's a bad idea to use a single optic for multiple diodes. The easiet way to do it would be to use several housings and combine them with beam splitters.

*sigh*

I thought everyone knew by now beam splitters only work ONE time.

Theory and practice, KGB. They are not one in the same.

Heh, I like this one, too.

Has this been done on this forum before sucessfully combining 3 beams into one, like in this diagram?

No, because it cannot be done! Why don't you listen?

Very well, POLARIZING beam splitters/combiners work only one time... ass :)

What about the "knife edge mirror" method??? You cant tell me that this has never been done. Try searching on PL for that. )

easy way (with no formulas :p :D)

cubes left pass one polarized plane and reflect the other, so you can join one pass (horizontal) and one reflect (vertical) ..... but now, your beam have both h and v polarizaton, so if you pass it in another cube, half pass through and half reflect away ..... the second cube split away the 2 beams, so you can't use it for join a third one without loose one of the first 2, and so on
