Hey All,
I'd like to build a scanning laser rangefinder. Before you say anything, lemme say I (sorta) know what I'm doing and I'm going to base it off a whitepaper from Maxim-IC for their laser rangefinder - HFRD-40.0 (I think you have to request it). I realize it'll be a difficult task, but I think it'll be useful to the hobby community.
BUT, before I can proceed, I need some help calculating whether or not its feasible to make this Class 1 eye safe - eye safe under all conditions. The math/flowchart for computing it is a little tricky. Has anyone done this before. The wavelenght is 905 nm
Thoughts? :yh:
