Why not just hit the panic button on your remote like I've done as well as other people I know? o_O

Also, this will fail uber hard in the daytime.

Why don't you burn stuff with a lighter? Why don't you point with a yard stick? Cause lasers are way cooler.

Yeah it will fail uber hard in the day time to say the least...actually i've confirmed that it doesn't even work at night.

Exactly, which is why I said what I said.

Lasers are way cooler. There are certain things you just don't do with them though.

Use the panic button like the rest of us. Pointing lasers skyward, especially in a situation you don't have 100% control over like this is generally not a good idea.

I had an idea... but don't really know if it would work or if it exists...

Ok I was thinking of, a massive car lot for example Disney world or something... and have a omni-directional remote... and push a button on your remote and sweep it across the cars until your cars horn/strobe light goes off. Then you know which direction its in (cause you are pointing to it) and you have a indicator (ie the horn/strobe).

Just a thought :D

^single-direction antennae like that are hard to accomplish, especially in a metal-filled parking lot.... too many variables. Just put an LED on the car, and use the horn too.

Don't feel too bad. I've had lot of good (I thought at the time) ideas using lasers that did not work as planned.
As far as car finders go, I have the best one of all. I can instantly find my work van in a full parking lot.
5" diameter blue metallic PVC tubes on top. Counting the tubes it is over 8' tall.
Might look a little ugly on a car although.
