brightest laser color on camera?

Hello everybody, I've been reading for a while on this forum, and have learned alot. :thanks:

I need to detect a laser line with software on a camera, and I know our eyes are most sensitive to green light, that's why we perceive a green laser to be brightest, but is this also true for a camera?

What color is a CCD imaging sensor most sensitive to?

Thanks

Camera seems to be most sensitive to DPSS green and blue, 532nm and 473nm.
Lets see what others have to say

My webcam sees my bluray best, by far. It has no issue seeing the beam of my etimeshop 5mw violet. No idea why, but it actually appears to be near equal to my 200mw green beam (to the camera)

So, for my webcam at least, I can very easily say 405-445nm shows best.

I think cannot be made a precise compilation, if we don't find technical details from producers, cause the sensitivity curve depend from a lot of factors ..... construction technology of the CCD/CMOS array, presence or absence of filters, lens materials and AR coating types .....

I have a webcam that see 405 as 450, another that see all "pinky", also the white, a videocamera that see IR more bright than green, and so on ..... too much differences .....

Interesting,
What I need, is the most visible spot, not the beam.
Is there a difference in the visibility of those for a camera?
