Hi there guys,
I'm just wondering which is brightest in a dark night out the Green-532nm and Blue-445nm
I know people say "green" is most visible to the eye as i have read and i must say my Green was pretty bright at night.

Heres a couple of shots from my Blackberry on a Humid night:

So if anyone has tried both "green and blue" on the same night which was most visible and what looks the best

Cheers

A yellow-green laser at 555nm would be the brightest. CNI sells 556nm lasers. Indigo blue at 445nm is not as bright as a green laser but they appear to be quite bright because of their higher powers. A blue laser at 473nm is brighter than a dark blue laser but you would need a powerful one to see a good bright beam. My 5mw 473 has a very thin beam and is moderately which is visible by its self when it is dark.

Dont get me wrong just on a normal night the beam is extremely visible
I'm just trying to figure/find out weather "my green" i have now the 1 in the pictures is going to be either brighter or less bright than a Blord 1W Blue Laser i am planning on buying for $95

I've been told 35 mw 532 equals 1w 445 . But it's not that exact IMO. My 3.5 w 445 beam looks pretty similar to my 300mw 532. Just thicker. The dot however is much better from much further away with the dpss. The 445 nm just doesn't travel like the green. Bt the burn is incredible with all that power.

There are a lot of factors, including power and beam diameter. The thinner the beam, the more concentrated the light is, and so the brighter the beam. Use this link to help you *roughly* get an idea of what you're looking at: Beam: (525nm 1mw) vs. (576nm 1mw)

The green is probably somewhere around 100mw and we all know Blords work lol. IMO Blords laser will be much more pleasing to look at and play with. It will be very bright being one watt and it will also have good burning capabilities. I would def get Blords lasers as he is one of the best. I have a dominator from him and its one of my favorite lasers. After that you can look into a quality 532 from a reputable seller either by finding one for sale here or doing some research as to who has exactly what you need. If your going on beam alone, Blords laser will be great unless your ready to shell out some cash for a higher mw 532 like 200-500mw and they get pricey in a hurry .

I just want to thank all you guys for your input i'm giving +1 Rep to all :)
You'v helped make my mind up and think i'll be ordering the Blue Host 1W from Blord

I'v seen many many many Laser builds from Blord and there fantastic,
Every member to have bought Blord's Laser's had nothing but GOOD stuff to say about him & his product

@Blord PM Sent & Order On Its Way )

You just made a smart move (great to hear isn't it lol) I was skeptical ordering from oversees and someone I didn't know, but in the end I am so happy with his lasers. I will surely order from him again. Went through customs like a breeze and the quality is insane. Check out my profile you will see a nice picture of his other work in my album. The black dominator he made me is almost 3.6w . He pressfits the heatsink in a real quality host. Unlike most other builder. His customs are just so precisely made it looks like a company laser.

That's the cni pgl3c. 300 mw. Aka hulk ultra 300 dragon lasers. Btw bloompyle is the member I bought that from. Very nice laser. Suspect for overspec. Great beam and dot. CNi has it for cheaper but I've had great experiences with dragon lasers.

550 is closest to the middle i believe. 532 is extremely "visible". i dont like the term "Bright" because thats really not what it is. you can have a "bright" IR laser and not see a damned thing.

I would say I had a strong ir. I don't think I would say bright. But I get we're your coming from. Good point.

i tell you what, i used to think 405 was dim. then i ordered a chinese one which, im sad to report, works better then the one i built (better diode). its beam is clearly visible at night. but its also full of retina damaging 405.

Canthinkofone is my resident safety guy. He reminds me of what I'm constantly taking for granted. Much needed sir.
