This is a prime example of new members not searching, even in the same section they're posting in, 5 lines down.

All of the principles of safety still apply. Don't even think about doing it without some sort of goggles on hand, and btw you're going to need more than a cranked up handheld to cut off tree branches. Or did I read that wrong?

no laser we will ever own can do that-- yer a dreamer!!
BTW IIRC its BONDFIRE (not Bonfire)from the fires where bonds got burned after they were paid off- just like burning a mortgage after the last payment.

Even cutting a pencil sized branch would not be possible-

you may enjoy seeing the beam in the smoke-which WILL show up better in a 'smoldering' fire-you will see 'Liquid Sky' by waving the beam thru the smoke or tunnel EFX by making rapid circles.-- just avoid any lasering towards any living things and keep an eye on the sky for aircraft--if you can see the aircraft then its likely they can see your laser-- even if it is NOT aimed at them. I can't see anything you would be doing that requires goggles. -- Expect maybe having someone inside the 'tunnel'- once they are still they can peek over the eye ware and/or take pics- BUT only one short shot can be harmful to both-burnt out pixels are there forever.. just like a hole in your retina.

hope this has been helpful for you

the word or meaning may have evolved because as far as I know it's definitely bonfire. Bonfire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
