Default Boeing tactical laser blasts ground target

Zapping things from the sky: Airborne Boeing laser blasts ground target | NetworkWorld.com Community

The Boeing Advanced Tactical Laser recently destroyed its first ground target on the White Sands Missile Range, with a five second burst peaking at 10W output.

Now while the article deals mainly with the military applications, there's a good deal of technical info to be found as well, such as the output of the finished system, beam steering speeds, beam generation, etc.

Enjoy

The Boeing Laser is megawatt class - It's beam is 1 meter in diameter and the laser itself weighs 12000 pounds...
