You must be in Australia -- if so I'm sorry for your heavy restrictions on personal freedoms. Here in the United States we won't worry about losing our rights and freedoms because we have the best legislative representatives money can buy.

As for hurting little creatures, I break them into two classes 1) Insects - see DDT, 2) Small furry animals - see road kill.

As for me, coons, possums, alligators and armadillos taste like pork. I imagine Roos taste the same.

Why are most people getting upset about Shining lasers at birds or insects for that matter...
As Senkat put nicely beforehand there are plenty of bug killers out there...as their are those who chose to kill other creatures.

If you are upset about the death of animals you better not open your fridge or pantry as you will most likley find a by product of a dead animal somewhere in there....
You could always turn Vegan or something...but then you would be killing PLANT LIFE...in which case the same argument can be raised

But if your trying to say that people who intentionally hurt animals for pleasure with Lasers is a sadistic act then yes i would agree.

But i believe the OP's question was a more "im curious to know..." and shouldn't be misinterpreted as an attempt to hurt insects/animals with lasers, spelling the end of lasers in the USA =P

want to know how bad it is down in australia? if you go for a ride on your bicycle without a helmet( the type racers wear,you know ,the road racer type olyimpic dudes) and the police catch you ,you will be fined 220$.....i kid u not guys,its that fucking stupid down here and getting worse. fireworks are banned for public use,again its a massive fine if you are caught with a PENNY BUNGER ...........i kid u not. i could go on but im tired. cheers

I see your point to certain extent - but don't for a moment think that the press, and other investigative folks don't read these forums, because they DO. ANY topic is monitored, ANY subject is picked apart by them. It sucks that your way of life is so restrictive, but attempting to flame an author half a world away because of your paranoid country doesn't make any sense to me. This forum is hosted in a country where free speech still holds sway, and people from all over the world come to this place to read what other people post. They come to learn, to laugh, and to make connections that otherwise wouldn't be possible. The Author was asking about BUGS - and his reference to "...little creatures..." was exactly that, if you read his post. I say slice them all in half - I don't care what anyone, any public official, or any government entity thinks about me because I happen to hate insects and arachnids. I walk with a cane - my "third leg" if you will - and I have to wipe it off before entering a house, simply because I delight in the murder of any hapless insect that may happen to anywhere within reach of rubber-footed cane. I squish their little gutses out, and they make an extremely satisfying crunch. I can do that, because I AM at the top of the food chain. I don't play with them, I don't collect them, and then murder them en mass - I simply enjoy crushing the life out of an insignificant "creature" whose sole purpose in living is to destroy what I have spent a lifetime trying to put together. What I am trying to say, is that you have made your opinion abundantly clear - and there are others with differing opinions on here. Whether you drag race, or dress in drag doesn't make a difference to this discussion ! For the record, the only "creature" I have attempted genocide upon has been when I signed for a termite bond - placing bait, and poisons in the ground surrounding my house so my investment does not get destroyed by unintelligent little wood munchers.

They don't have to "READ" the forum. The forum is indexed by Google and other search engines. All they have to do is plug a search term into the engine and voila! . . . .They know what you've typed . . They know your handle. After that, they can search the related (or offending) term AND YOU. Most of you have your email addresses exposed to the public. How hard do you think it is for a reporter (or officer) to find you with your profile information and your email address in hand?

Be careful what you post . . .especially in the land of Dorthy and Toto right now.

They could find me as far as my city goes I guess.Any further than that would mean my stupid ISP has to give out information.Maybe the police has that authority , but I don't see a reporter finding me in any legal way.
