I have been doing a TON of research on what laser to get, but it seems like all the ones i think are decent, have all these bad ratings. For example, Wicked laser's, they seem to have nice laser's, but everyone has issues with there laser's. Then i looked at Rayfoss, they had lots of laser's, but some of there prices where so cheap, they had to be under-spec. I really just want something strong, with a wide visible beam. Preferably a 445nm or a 532nm... If anyone knows a good place to get them (besides on here) I don't have a paypal account, and i dont want to get scammed(not saying that you guys are all scammers) but you never know.. :thinking:

IMO Opto has some of the best lasers on the market. Click They are in the US, and the owner is a member here.

Don't buy the O-like 400mw green. You can very easily get one that has a issue. It's not worth the hassle for your first laser if you get a bad one.

You said you wanted a quality, on-spec laser. They have >150mW pens for under your budget price, plus you'll get it in days, and Jack backs up everything he sells. If you want to gamble on a under-spec Chinese laser that will take a month to arrive, then by all means do it. Sorry bro but you cant have the best of both worlds. Rayfoss was removed for the "Buying your first green laser" thread. So that should give you a clue. Also if the laser is messed up, you have to pay for shipping back to China, and wait another month, or more, to get the replacement. Just ask DontLaseMeBro. :beer:

Well, I can't fight with that logic... I was really hoping to have something with a little more power for 180$. I appreciate the suggestion:D

@Foshizzle45

Do you own any lasers right now?

What kind?

The reason I'm asking is, IMHO it is foolish to start off with a 400mW 532nm or a 1W+ 445nm laser.

Start off with a green laser in the 100mW range and see how you like it. There are PLENTY of options for this.

Ultimately I think you would be best off buying from a member here. For that however you will need a PayPal account.

It is good that you are concerned with scams and such. Read the stickies in the B/S/T section, follow the advice in them, and you should be fine.

lol, I do own two 5mw 532nm... Nothing to be proud of. I am aware of the strength and precautions from watching hours of YouTube video's. The thing is, I don't know where to get that 100mw. If i did, I wouldn't want to spend 125$ for it. Thanks for the input though:) Also, I have a 100mw module, I have not been able to get it to work yet though. I think it may be defective.

If you want brightness, go with 532 not 445. anything around 200mW will give you a great beam. I for one stand by dinodirect as a good seller, check there for some cheap green lasers.

For 200mW you are probably gonna need to spend about that much.

First though consider getting something in the 50mW to 100mW range. The transformable model from lazerer.com and from o-like.com seems to do very well overall.

Of the two companies lazerer.com seems to have no negative reviews at all as of right now.

Aside from ordering from china... keep an eye on the b/s/t section, lower power greens pop up all the time.

Yeah, I wish someone lived locally near me, that would be really easy.
