Hi everyone, I just joined, dont know if anyone can help. I recently purchased an ARIES 175 from laserglow, (totally excellent) but it seems to have developed a slightly wider diameter beam, only got it in march, probably something Ive done, DOH! .anywho, just wondering if its a focussing issue or something, any comments gratefully appreciated. :-? Thank you

I have the same model Aries and it's a fine piece of kit. I would suggest contact laserglow a.s.a.p as this could be internal. Have you dropped it??

Hello Timelord thanks for your reply, no havent dropped it. I do carry it around with me from time to time to do optical experiments with. I will contact laserglow and see what happens. Thanks again

it could be temperature i've found in comparison to when a laser is cold as to when its hot beam diameter and divergence can change rather dramaticly.. i understand its heating up in the northern hemisphere temperature could be a factor.

is it still within spec?

Measure the beam diameter and the divergence to see if both are still in spec.
If not, return it for repair while it's still under warranty.

Hello, still doing checks, hopefully will find out soon. Have notified laserglow, and waiting a helpful reply.
