Your diode is killed. That pinkish red glow is 100% IR and is 100% dangerous

EDIT: or you dropped it and messed up the crystals alignment (or shipping smacked it around)

EDIT 2: exchanges are free*

*you have to pay return shipping and then its contingent on inspection and what Max feels is proper; replacement or rebuild.

Shipping will take 2-4 weeks to send it back and 4-6 weeks to get back to you. Shipping will run you ~$30 and thats without tracking, bahahahaha, dont bother with tracking since its worthless and will jack the price up to ~$70.

I had to send one back and it took forever but it was replaced. Others got replacements that still died. Better off taking the hit and buying a laser in the USA

I had no idea the pink glow was IR. Thanks for telling me. I've been looking at it, although not directly.

A US laser would have cost several hundred dollars. This one only cost about $70 - but a wasted $70.

Do I just send it back to Lazerer or do I have to get a return authorization from him? I've emailed him twice but no answer so far.

you need a RMA, he will send you it and you need to complete the form. You also could have gone with a reputable foriegn seller and saved yourself a huge headache. Laserbtb would have been about $110 and it would have come in around 150-200mW. Lazerer hasnt been too good lately. I basically got one of the last good lasers from him and that was back in feb/march. I only sent it back since the tailcap got seized and i couldnt take the battery out :(

Thanks. I will give them a try. I chose Lazerer only because he got good reviews from this site. But I won't be buying from him any more.

Good reviews? What was the date on the review, 2011, 2012? Look at the reviews from March 2013-current, 95% of them are horrible for lazerer. This site is AMAZING for info but check the OP date

how did he pay?

EDIT:
CC- call the CC company and put a stop payment on it
Paypal- contact paypal and cancel the order and say its due to a inferior product (DONT SAY LASER or they will shut his account down and make it so he can never open another). Say you bought another product, it arrived completely broken and they are not working with you to replace it. (might have to do some white fibs to get them to stop the payment but afaik it wont affect lazerer since he opens a new pp every few months and shuts the other one down. Thats how he avoids pp shutting him down due to terms of service violations)
Money order- SOL, sorry

call you CC company tomorrow and put a stop payment on it. CCs have fraud protection in them. Let them know you bought one yourself, it arrived and was destroyed. You want to get a replacement prior to buying another and they are not responding to your requests

EDIT: you can actually call them now. most have 24/7 service, i've used mine before

Fingers crossed for you and your son. If you want to buy a good laser from over seas go to laserbtb.com

Thanks Livinloud for all your help. I checked out your group buys and I was wondering if you still have one going? I would like to cancel the Lazerer order and place it through you.

The LaseeBtb GB? That wasn't my GB, offroadfreak ran that one and it ended already. I'm running a GB for laser projectors. $187 shipped for a 600mW projector or $395 shipped for a 1W professional projector. Shipping js DHL so its a lot quicker than that stupid HKPost

What kind of projector are you buying? I will look it up and give some thought to buying it.
