Batteries stuck in Thor M2

Hello, so I recently bought the thor M2 laser off of ebay. I purchased it with the batteries recommended on this thread http://laserpointerforums.com/f41/guide-i-want-my-first-laser-99621.html
Direct link to the batteries: https://liionwholesale.com/collecti...battery-wholesale-discount?variant=4431248580

but when I put the batteries in they got stuck in the barrel of the laser and I can't get one of them out. I don't have any magnets and I don't know how to dismantle it. Anybody got any ideas on how I could get it out? :thanks:

I've had this happen with 18650's in lights and generally tapping the back of it on my palm tends to work them out slowly. Sometimes they just fit so well they form suction and a lot of friction and get stuck pretty darn well.

Alright, I was able to get them out by tapping it! I removed the plastic on the batteries so they would fit better and it seemed to have worked they slide right in and out now. Thank you for the help!

what plastic??
hopefully not the battery wrap.
That battery wrap missing will cause the cells to short which never ends well. At best: burns or ruined cells/laser, at worse an ER visit or fire.

Welp I just screwed up. I removed the battery wrap, can I just tape it back on or something or will I have to buy new batteries? :undecided:

No problem. At least the solution exists now. Used to be "get new batteries" when this happened or rig it with tape but seeing as the battery got stuck before, that probably would not work too well.

Actually the batteries I have are 16340 will they work with that wrap? Just want to make sure before I order them.

I didn't even notice that as i had searched 16340. Glad you caught that as they would possibly not shrink enough and be too long.

Too long is easy to fix, unfortunately or fortunately I have never had to rewrap cells and someone else would need to chime in on whether those would shrink down enough.

I've used a hobby store rare earth magnet to remove stuck batteries before.
