I don't know either. but it is cheap enough for me to take a risk,, I bought two of them. and there are 6 left. It looks cool and well made. But I don't know much about 473 DPSS lasers I heard that the doubling crystals can degrade with moisture and or time. not sure if true. but for that price why not

yeah its unfortunite that i dont have a 473nm and dont really know anything about that wavelength. I have too heard that the crystals can degrade over a period of time, I can actually recall a member on here talking about a 532nm laser they had siting in a closet for years and finally took it out after a long time and it was dim as if the crystal just didnt wanna convert anymore, even using new batteries. stupid oxygen and humitity  lol
well anyways, i cant wait for you to get the unit :)

Yeah i hope that don't happen to my 532 lasers. They are my favorite laser I absolutely love that color and I have one that is 40 watt flashlamp pumped HUGE and I am getting the power supply and Qswitch driver. Hopefully that will fire. I have a 450 nm blue but I never saw a 473 nm I hope it is prettier than the 450 color

It’s 10-50mw unit, no higher output. Description clearly says it’s above 0.5milliwatts! I have two of those units and they work nice. Good to experiment with DPSS and realignment. It does not have output collimation optics and dot will be large.

Are they well made? or junk? I hope they are decently made. For the price I am okay with the output.

Yes, quality is good, everything is well made in those, beam specs may vary device to device.

Awesome can't wait to get them. I got three as the one was advertised as not working. That is a pig in a poke as it may be the head or the power supply. But couldn't resist. I got to stop buying lasers I am getting addicted It's as bad as opiates

I have six of these lasers. They aren't collimated as they come, but that can be done with the addition of an aspheric lens. They don't output anywhere near 500 mW. In fact, the most I could tease out of one was ~50 mW. I haven't done much else with them as I am now very busy with other projects.

yes I never heard of a 473 laser putting out much power aren't they klind of in the same camp as the yellow DPSS? much less effecient than their 532 nm cousins? Laserland is selling one at that output for 350.00 and so I can't imagine the're being 500 mw would have been great though if they were. I would love to have a few more. but I got to stop buying lasers I am getting ridiculous with this laser stuff the past few months.

Are willing to let one of those 6 lasers go? I wouldn't mind just one more....you know,,,,,, what's wrong with just one more?

They aren't very efficient. Maybe 2% to 3%. But, back in the late 90s, they were the best way to get blue laser light, which was needed by these medical units. They were made to detect carotenoid levels without the need to take blood. Now, they have almost been completely decommissioned, and that is why there are all these units out there for sale. They used to ask much more for them, but they are all 20 years old now. Some with a lot of miles on them. :p

Sorry. I'm hanging on to the ones that I have.
