Oh god, the poor cats and dogs. :cryyy:
I love lasers but I'm starting to understand why most governments ban lasers over 5mw...people are idiots. Or perhaps not educated enough on what they're buying.

..You can see the beam easily even in clear weather at night or in a somewhat dark room. If it's foggy outside these are incredible, looks like a mile long light saber! My cat and my sister's dog both love chasing them around also, and my niece loves playing with them..
..I have a cat that hasn't grown out of his love for the laser. He plays with them every night. He seems to like these much better than the cheap cat toys. I have a feeling its because they are VERY bright and he doesn't lose track of them..
..These lasers are wonderful; and they are a great deal. Clear and bright. One can even use them the daylight. My cat loves them as well; Even my neighbor's cat came to play..
..Very bright (esp green and red) and are still working
several months after I got them. Kids and cats are easily entertained with them..
..We replaced these with the laser lights you get from the pet store, they last a lot longer & are brighter. The cats love them..

I do have some cats (8) and I don't allow anyone (my gf, NO one) to play with they using lasers. Not even my lower powered ones...

I fear that the Tapetum Lucidum inside their eyes may lower their damage threshold.

Thats depressing. I just hope that Amazon's laser are underspec units.

Sadly... so called "5mw" Amazon and eBay lasers are often 50mW+ lasers...

It's really sad... so many people think lasers are just toys. Toys that don't need any safety precautions. They are most definitely NOT toys, and they definitely have safety hazards

Honestly, I purchased a "5mW 532nm Astronomy Laser" to use as a dog toy a while back, but when I unpackaged it and slapped some batteries I it, I immediately shelfed the idea and re-ordered a clearly 1mW 650nm for that... between my initial misguided purchase (which I recognized when I received the product) for my pets and my green laser TAC-light I bought for my G20 (Viridian X5L), my laser fascination was rekindled. Thanks to the folks here at LPF for teaching me about laser safety and guiding me in my (multiple) safety goggle purchases and helping me learn, I feel this is a love for years to come. I certainly wish there was a way to help the uninformed pet owners... maybe I'll host a generics laser safety site and spam the link in all the reviews :)

Haha!

Have an awesome week laserers!

 for recognizing your purchase when you got it and not using it as a dog toy. I just wish some of the people that posted reviews had done that.

I understand if its a real 5mw red laser but if it's any other color or high output power then these people shouldn't be allowed to own pets!
