DIY: How to Build a Burning Laser Without any Soldering! - YouTube I found this video on Youtube about building a laser from an altoids tin. It seems simple and seems like it should work.. The only question I have is obviously the driver is already connected to the module or what?? Any help or advice is certainly appreciated! I'd probably just order a 50mw module to start with... Thanks in advance! :yh: Edit: Also you would only want to keep it powered on a short time due to the lack of heatsinking.

Yes, there is a driver already connected to these modules. It's the little circuit board at 0:17. The brass contains IR diode, crystals and optics. Input voltage is usually 3V.
