Any recommended alternatives to a simlar tripod stand which allows for both stable mounting and a constant on method?

S-KY Lasers sells a nice stand that I use to hold my RPL-400.  It is only $14.99.  I think it works great. The top part that  holds the laser is just 1 of 2 that are interchangable.

Nice. But it looks as if the S-KY unit might not hold the lesser diameter Optotronics pens. And would still prefer the Wicked Stand as it provides for a constant on method for devices w/o keys. Any other recommendations?

The clamp, that DX sells, is the 2nd part of the S-Ky stand I mentioned. The first piece, in the picture of the stand, is a cradle. The 2nd piece is a clamp.

I bought the Wicked Stand a few months ago. My only complaint is the price. The quality is actually very good. The posted review must have been from an earlier model or before quality control. I took a chance, bought it and am very happy with it.

jimc1128, does your Wicked Stand come with little rubber bungs around the set screws? That was the problem with the one in the review.

I did - that was the first thing I checked when I received it. I read the review before purchasing the Wicked Lasers but figured they couldn't have made a product that would actually damage their lasers. That is why I figured the one pictured in the review missed Q.C. and new ones would be the way they are supposed to be.

Can the crade section of the WL stand be separated from the tripod for mounting on another 1/4" tripod?

The tripod below cost around £5 ($10) delivered, what I like about it is the unusual shape, very futuristic......
It doesn't come with the laser clamp but the DX one would fit.

[edit]I have just noticed that the title of the ebay listing says Aluminium construction....it isn't, it is plastic....doesn't stop it looking good though[/edit]
