When using my lasers outside I am always careful to avoid aircraft and even though most of the time it is as simple as keeping an eye out for aircraft one of the things I do is check out a few live air traffic maps. They aren't always accurate but in my opinion it is better than nothing. Here are a few websites with live air traffic.
RadarVirtuel.com
This site seems to have the most accuracy for the UK, as well as most of eastern europe. It has a pretty basic layout.
Flightradar24.com - Live Flight Tracker!
This site also seems to be very accurate for the UK and eastern europe as well as parts of the middle east and north africa.

This site is a little different. It shows a map of most major airports and if you click on the airports you can get a live audio link to the control towers of those airports. Pretty interesting stuff.
Some of these maps are very accurate for some areas and extremely inaccurate for others I find that if you google "air traffic map (insert specific area)" you find more accurate results.
Like I said most of the time just keeping an eye out for airplanes is sufficient but I like to be cautious....... plus a live air traffic map is pretty damn cool IMO.
