What's happening forum?

First off we have The Lazerer Rifle 1.5w
Secondly The "PL" series 1000mW
And lastly The Spartan "BW" 1000mW

I was going to purchase the rifle, however after reading several CONFLICTING forum reviews,
(that's right I use the search function :D ) I am still unable to determine if it has a glass lens or a plastic lens.
However it seems to only effect the laser after about a year or two of use.

The PL-Laser from laserbtb is supposedly a better build than the Rifle.
i.e. Better lens, less divergence, longer life, 6 month warranty.

Finally, DragonLasers' spartan I don't know much about this one except for that forum members say it s a good site...

I just want to know which of these would be the Most Reliable AND have the Longest life.
I will be using the laser for skypointing mostly, I don't really have a need to burn things...

I own the Rifle 1.5W - the lens is glass.

Depends on a personal preference I suppose, but I really enjoy my Rifle. It's over-spec as well.

If you want a reliable laser either build one or buy from a member here. Take a look at the Buy/Sell/Trade section.

You can get a 1.5W for around $150 or less so you have around $50 to spend on quality safety goggles. Don't take your chances with a 1.5W laser even if you would only use it for sky pointing. Accidents do happen but I do not mean that you should use it while sky pointing. Just in case you decide to burn stuff. It's better to be safe than sorry.

It's better to build one or buy a custom build from a member here than buying from companies, IMO. More reliable(if purchased from respected and trusted members) and cheaper.

That's true, The el-cheapolasers.com will only screw you up in the longer run, i am not talking about all but from the past recurrent problems with chinese companies have led to the fact that buying a custom built laser made with Only the Best components and properly heatsinked drivers/diodes , will only be your best bet and yet save you some money to buy good safety goggles.

Generally the forum built lasers have much larger heatsinks, and as such last longer.

The lens in the rifle lasers is glass.

I'd buy from one of the many forum members on here that build like others have said.
I got my first high powered laser from ApexProxy and I'm extremely pleased with it.
