Hi,

I'd like to buy a new laser, and I'm hesitating getting a 500mw 405nm laser and or a 1.2W 445nm from lazerer.

Which one is the best burning laser ?
Can both light a fire (without matches) ?

By the way is the Devil RIFLE - 405nm 500mW Violet Burning Laser Pointer from lazerer focusable ? it is not mentioned anywhere and it would be surprise it is not since it has the same body of the 1.2W 445nm rifle laser.

Thanks for further helps :)

405nm is better burning in general. But 445nm beats it because of raw power. Yes the Riffle can be focused.

The 445nm will be better lighting a fire, but its not easy. We dont have the technology yet to put an instant fire starter in a hand held yet. If, and when they do, it will be big $$$.

The 445 will win at burning up close, at a couple feet the 405 will start to take the lead.
You can start a fire, but it is hard.

Oh well I can't imagine how dangerous it would be..
I'm concerned about safety but I guess the 405nm 500mw is almost as dangerous as the 445nm 1.2w, anyway I plan to uses my 405nm/445nm goggles unless I target distant things.
Thank you!

Ah interesting ! Thanks, could it pop ballons at 10 meters for instance ?
Did you both could start a fire ?
Although our eyes are less sensible with short wavelengths do you think the laser beam of the 405nm is well visible at night ?

Sort of like being run over with a sedan is almost as bad as dangerous as being run over with a bus... at the end of the day you're still dead.

Yes, yes, and depends on ambient lighting as well as air particulates, but in general yes.
