Default 405 vs 445 vs 532

At a bit of an impasse here.

My options currently are a 400mW Violet 405nm, a 1.2W Blue 445nm, or a 400mW Green 532nm.

Will any 3 of these reach a visible beam in daylight? I know all 3 will be pretty solid at night. I've read the forums for the past couple hours, but not many posts concerning daylight visibility.

Thanks for any help!

The green would be the best, but in bright sun light it would be hard to see any of them.

I'm not talking about bright sunlight. Just in an average-lit room, or even dusk.

At night, would the beam be particularly solid?

A true 400mW green beam would blow the other 2 clean out of the water in terms of beam visiblity

The 532nm is the most visible, the 1W 445 beam would be as about as visible as the 532, as far as the 405 goes it would be hard to see.
The 532 green is the most visible color out of all of the colors.

Gotcha.

For reference, these were the lasers I am looking at:
Lazerer 400mW Violet
Lazerer 1.2W Blue
Lazerer 400mW Green

Also (and I'm about to go search), how are the goggles that Lazerer packages with the 400mW Green? Nothing like WL, I hope.

A 400mW green beam doesn't blow a 1.2W 445 out of the water. It will be brighter, but dang, 1.2W of 445 is pretty damn bright! I'd go with the 1.2W, it's a very low price in an amazing host with a lot of power. I'm buying a 2.1W 445 this month (it's a custom build) and I really wish I could get it in a rifle host!!! One can only dream...

I would rather get the host that you just bought instead of the riffle.
He was wanting the best beam and most everybody should know that a green is the most visible, a 400mw green is about the same as a 1W 445.

The other bonus is that there's less responsibility with the 400mW green. 1.2W is quite a lot of power, and it only takes a split-split-split second to blind someone, permanently. Yes, 400mW is still dangerous, but less so.

I appreciate the help, gents.

Personally, I have not found that calculator to be very accurate i.r.t. 445nm lasers. My 25mw 450nm has a beam that is far more visible than my 5mw 532s. 445nm is in my opinion a much prettier color.

I would suggest the 445.

I agree that you can't take that calculator's output as hard fact. Going by it, it told me I needed 3W of 405 to match 50mW of 450. heh. I know that's not nearly the case.. 100mW of 405 is a good compliment to 50mW of 450 in reality.

Yea my 450mw blue ray has a beam just as bright as a 50mw green and even my 50mw blu-ray has a brighter beam than a 50mw red. It's all about Rayleigh scattering and dark adaption.

Excellent.

Now if I may ask one more question....how dangerous is the IR? Is it focused or scattered?

IR is not particularly dangerous when combined with green. It is focused the same as the green beam. All it does is raise the mw output without providing almost any additional visibility.
