I think these will make great laser hosts has anyone tried with either one?
The Husky one has some what of a heatsink already i am sure with a good heatsink plus the aluminum aperture will add to the heatsinking ability does anyone know if jayrob has a heatsink that might fit the other host the LED LENSER 612193 ? i could give some measurements if that helps
thanks guys

I haven't seen either one of these used before.

If you send Jayrob the head and or give him a good drawing of what you want, he will make a custom heat sink for you.

I've had him do this for several of the "new" hosts I've tried over time

Peace,

How much does he charge for a custom heatsink? an estimate is fine

It depends on how much work is involved, how many different diameters, etc. He has always done them very reasonably for me. ~$25-$30 for a "one off" with my drawing. He may charge you some to actually do the measurements for you.

I have the husky, but it is nice and bright so I decided to keep it as a flashlight. Also, it's kinda fat LOL. The other host looks cool. I don't think I've seen it at HomeDepot before though. If you decide to make them into lasers, let me know if you want to sell the flashlight parts (and how much you want for them).
Thanks.

I am sure jayrob makes great heat sinks! but I feel I would be remiss not to mention that Flamingpyro made the best copper heat sinks I ever got! both are great guys and I use both as super resources! -Glenn

It should be easy enough, but it would be best if you sent me the host. I am in CA...

The reason I need the host, or an exact drawing, is that the heatsink must be held tight in the host. Either by a final retaining ring (if the host is that type), or by the head of the host when it is screwed all the way in place. So the heatsink length, and other design considerations must be taken into consideration besides O.D. and I.D.

I imagine you would like it fit for an AixiZ module with a set screw for module positioning??

That's the way 99% of my designs are...

They both look nice, I have the LED Lenser, it's a nice light. I have to know how you got that thing open, mine just sits there, taunting me, and I know it's laughing, I just can't hear it.
