So I was thinking about getting one of these lasers but Im not sure which one. I heard that the 1w spartan has very bad divergence and that the 400 mW has ajustable focus which means better divergence?
All I am looking for is something that will have a massive bright beam at night time and can travell at least 2 miles and something where you can see the beam in day time.
Also how good is the 95 mW green viper laser like can I see the beam without any fog at night time?
Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

I too am interested in the 400mw model with the tighter beam.

focus does not help with divergence. Dragon lasers is a good company so the focus will be at infinity if the laser is non-focusable.
However, If they use the same diode they use on the 1W ones on the 400mW ones, the divergence WILL BE the same. Unless stated ;)

I would recommend the 1W Spartan. The 400mw Spartan has a corrective optics which makes its beam circular rather than rectangular. I am almost sure that both use the same diode, however due to the correction, the power of the 400mw Spartan is reduced, and therefore the beam is weaker and also the burning abilities.

I advise you to read reviews here with respect of these two lasers. You will find out that there are much more reviews about the 1W and most of the poeple here who bought the Spartan, bought the 1W.

Only if circular beam is that important for you, I will recommend the 400mw.

Needless to say that both are high quality lasers and that DL is a respectable and trustworthy company.

IMO 400mW is more than enough.. no reasons to get more than that!

PS: Have anyone tryed to pump 1W at the 400mW spartan?
