Hey guys haven't been on this in a while.

I am faced with a decision on which laser to choose because i am looking for a good one. I am caught between Lazerer's 1500mw Rifle Blue laser and Rayfoss's 1000mw Red laser.

At this time the following are what i "personally" would consider pros:

Impressive during the day - When you can see a faint beam in daylight or the dot can be seen on a tree half a mile away in the middle of the day that really shows the power of a laser.

Decent divergence - I wouldn't like the beam to spread out too much e.g. pointing straight up at the stars, the tighter the beam the better.

Good distance burning - always found it impressive to pop a balloon or light a match at a distance especially since spectators are usually like WTH

Links to both lasers here:
Red - www.rayfoss.com
Blue -http://lazerer.com/rifle_445nm_1.5w_focusable_blue_laser_pointer

Any ideas thanks.

the only 1W+ red lasers that don't have a huge beam are 671nm DPSS red lasers, and there's a reason $$$ not many people here have them ;)

I have Lazerer's 1.5W Blue, and it's awesome :D

Can't speak for the red lasers, but mine is way cool.

Thanks for the replies, yeah i see a few nice 445s on this in the Buy, Sell & Trade section so it's all good!!

Will the fact that i'm not a "huge" participant on LaserPointerForums (only 45+ posts) matter when it comes to buying from others on here? Do sellers have any objection to that?

You can post on the BST section once you have reached 20 posts. It's up to the seller if he decides to sell one to you.

I personally have bought a laser from a veteran member here with me only having less than 50 posts. Most won't mind your post count unless you are the one selling.

I would highly recommend the 1W red. It's more visible during the day. I have noticed that red lasers beam diverges noticeably less than blue.

IMO, I prefer 445nms because they usually have better beam specs in general, burn better, are a rarer color(more wow effect). If you were to decide on the 650nm I would suggest the laserBTB GB and if you decide on 445nm I would suggest buying one from someone on the forums.

Are you talking about the lasers with a 500mW mitsu diode in them?

I'm always puzzled but this, but to me 445nm appears much, much brighter vs 638nm.

I agree as well. 445nm appears far brighter than 638nm to me.

Also, Mitsus have sad divergence compared to 445s from what I see.
