Storage unit find (laser metal engraver)

I thought I would give it a try and went to one of these auctions at a public storage facility. Not knowing it I ended up with this Epilog 1000/25w metal engraver. I have not attempted to test or operate the laser mainly because I dont know what I am doing and the computer that controlled it is not there. So as it stands, anyone have any suggestions?

Hopefully all of the important bits are still there.

Being a metal engraver the laser may be q-switched so if you do get to the point of wanting to turn it on, you will need good quality safety glasses.

See if you can get some better pictures so we can see what you're dealing with. I can't find much about it on google other than that it's quite old.

Judging by the description and pictures, it looks as if zapp is in the middle of burglary :na:

Imagine the burglar finding something laser related, taking pics and asking on an open forum the equivalent of "Should I grab this?"

Kidding aside,

It does say on the red label it's made in 1993, and being an engraver it most likely needs special software to run it, as well as possibly outdated and no longer used plugs in your computer to connect it - that's my best guess though.

I wouldn't say it's good for much more than taking apart.

And even that is questionable - if it uses CO2 tube as a laser source, being unignited for so long I'd guess that's gone too.
