Spectra Physics HeNe 632.8 nm>1.0 mW

Hey,

Came up an opportunity to buy one of these lasers here in Brazil, it's brand new in the original box.

They offered me it for about $800 but I guess I can get it for less (it was $3500, after some talking he lowered it to $800)

Do is it worth buying? I'd like to have a gas laser but it seems too expensive to me and the wavelenght is very near the mitsubishi 638nm diodes, i don't know if the price is worth the difference.

Cheech is right....that is way overprice for a general collector.

It is true that those lasers cost that much new and still do if you purchase them from a professional supplier.

If your not using it for a scientific use than you can get a nice HeNe for way less. If you want just a small HeNe bare tube PM me, i'll let you have it for the cost of shipping. you'll need to get a small cheap PSU but that shouldn't be a problem:beer:

532 with Envy, i'd pay for a little HeNe, I'd love to have one, how much would it be plus shipping to Brazil for you not to loose money?

It may take a week or so to get it into the mail...I'v got a heavy week at work coming up.

I'll take a look at shipping...send me your address in PM and we'll get it arranged. Nothing is needed for the tube, I have a few laying around. They psu if I remember correctly should be 4-6ma...shouldn't be a problem to find one for a good price.
