Scavenged an old projection tv, need some advice...

Ok, well a buddy of mine was cannibalizing an old projection tv, and I think he may have found some CRTs. I havent yet had a chance to look at em, but they sound like they could be used to make some sort of gas laser. Or maybe thats just the novice speaking, but is there any way to identify what these are(looking at them tomorrow), and if they are able to be used as lasers, how do I power them. :yh: Thanks in advance, I know the forum will help me out!

Old projection TV's use CRT tubes as you said. The internal structure of a CRT tube is very different to a gas laser, so they're not really good for anything other than being a CRT tube, unfortunately.

IN Some I took the three huge lenses= all have either a glass or plastic BIG FS mirror.
One had very nice real wood (mostly)cabinet to repurpose. Take care with some lenses as they have oil inside and can make a mess (dsmantle outside)

If it has a crt then it should virtually have a high voltage transformer inside. Such a flyback. Flyback are commonly used with crts...
