Nice! I have one on the way too and can't wait to fire it up. I keep forgetting to contact MI about getting a set of the solder clips for it. My other green HeNe is in a head so I can't check the bore tube but the one in the pic on the auction page is also frosted. Hmm. Now I need to swing by lowes and get some wood to make a mount for it.

My yellows and greens are "frosted" in the middle. Red, like yours is clear.
On my 6" tube light comes from anode end. All others I have 14-20" red, yellow and greens are emitted from the Cathode end.
I bought this same tube also, I'd love to see it fired up. Post pics if you do. It currently is the biggest one I have, in hand. But in a week or so..... I'll let you know.
BTW, did they send the ballast resistor and the solder cips?

no ballast resistor, but i have a local place that has them. and i have one from last time. it did come with solder clips. but you know what i used on my last one.... i use 3/8" hose clamps lol.

I'm being tortured. The parts for the 24v input box I'm going to build for my little 6" tube from Same came today (woot) along with the alden leads and ballast for my tube. I already have a power supply from my green HeNe head so I have everything I need except for the damned tube. ARRGH! Time to go fire up my red tube to get my plasma fix.

I got a USPS tracking number from MI Monday but it hasn't been updated past "accepted" late yesterday morning. If it leaves Phoenix today I should have it Friday or Saturday. Oh well I need to build the control box for my red HeNe, put the 12v supply for my current (and future) greenie in a project box, fix the blown diode on my 405nm, and get a replacement fuse for my DMM (and aforementioned project box) from Rat Shack. Hmm maybe it's a good thing the tube isn't here yet. Oh I need to solder up my series of ballast resistors to the HV leads too.

I'm using a Laser-Drive HeNe power supply at 2800 volts, as the datasheet recommends. It came with a red HeNe I bought, so it just happens to be the right power supply for the job. And thanks for the compliments, I too could not pass this amazing deal up :beer:

Hmm. How long did it take to get to you? I got the tracking info on Tuesday but I haven't had any updates since "acceptance" when the USPS got the package that day. I'm hoping it didn't get scanned when it left Phoenix instead of it still sitting there two days later. If they sent it priority mail it'll probably arrive tomorrow or Saturday. I just get nervous when there's no tracking update for several days.
